Can the Yankees pull it off? Is Torre’s job up in the air? Can Roger take the heat? Yankees win Game Three

October 7th, 2007 by yankees

Two hours and 20 minutes till the kick off of Game Three Yankees Vs. Cleveland. This will be updated live during the game. 3-17 record against the Yankees.

Roger Clemens looks like he is starting out a little slow. He shall get into the grove. 2 on one out in the first inning for the Indians. Two Outs top of the First. Martinez Flied out to Johnny. Inning over with two men on base. Now it is time for the Bottom of the third inning. Garko singled to center and that sent Cabrera home for a run.

Leading off first inning for Yankees Westbrook pitching for the Indians
Johnny Damon Hit into play and gets a single
Derek Jeter batted into a double play
Bobby Abreu hit to first basemen and Abreu is out

Derek Jeter tried to lay down a bunt. It looked fair but went foul. Johnny and Derek both out. Bobby hit into an out Inning over ready for top of the Second

Kenny Lofton popped out and Trot Nixon hit a Home run off of Roger score 2-0 2 outs Sizemore up to bat 0-1 Sizemore gets a single. Four hits in the top of the second inning. Sizemore Steals he is currently at second base Inning over

Leading off in the bottom of the second
A rod hits into play and gets a single! Finally he is 1-19 last 20 at bats pretty crappy if you ask me Jorge Posada is up and hits into a double play 2 outs Jason Giambi hits into a out. Second inning over.

Looks like Roger Clemens will be taken out in the top of the third if he does not get his stuff together. Jorge is out on the mound with Roger to buy a little time for the next pitcher. Looks like Phil Hughes will be up next. Roger Strikes the batter out. Thank god! One out and Roger Clemens is taken out of the game. Phil Hughes is going to be pitching. Hughes gives up one run. 3-0 Indians

Bottom of the Third. Matsui singled one on. Cano up to bat and moved Matsui to Second and Cano out at first. Melky Cabrera up to bat. He took a swing it went about two feet and Matsui went to third and was safe looked out but called safe and Melky at first. Johnny up to bat now. They need to make a run this inning to make this game last. The Indians pitching coach at the mound to speak to Westbrook. One out runners on First and Third Johnny up to bat. Johnny Damon hits a single up to center field and one run scores. 3-1 Indians runners are at first and second base. Derek Jeter is up to bat. Derek bats into a double play and inning over

Phil Hughes pitches Three up three down in the top of the fourth. Who’s up for the Yankees. Bobby Abreu hit to the pitcher and thrown out at first base. A Rod popped out to Left field. Jorge Posada hit into second base and thrown out at first base off to the top of the Fifth inning

Jason strikes out and Matsui gets a single. Cano hits a double off the left field wall and Matsi to third and Cano to second. Melky up to bat hope he can bring in a few runs to tie the damn game. Melky hits a line drive out to left field and Matsui comes home and Cano to third. Game is 3-2 Indinas winning. Looks like Westbrook will get a little talking to which is not surprising. Johnny is up to bat with one out in the bottom of the fifth. JOHNNY HITS A THREE SHOT HOME RUN FINALLY SOME RUNS COME ACROSS HOME PLATE!!! 5-3 Yankees WINNING. So sorry WestBrook your bullpin was not ready to come in to save your sorry arse. Westbrook has not done well against the New York Yankees this season Derek Jeter is currently up to bat and pops out to center field. Bobby up to bat now and flys out to center filed

A rod up to bat hits a single and safe at first. Westbrook is out of the game at the bottom of the sixth inning. Jorge Posada is up to bat and singles to left field with zero out and two on. Jason is replaced by Doug and takes a bunt down the third base line to move runners to second and third. Matsui walked intentionally to load up the bases for Robinson Cano. Cano hits it up to right field and three runs come in and Cano to third base. 8-3 Yankees winning. Looked like a MAJOR screw up in the right field to let him get all the way to third base. It went all the way past Trot Nixon who should of picked it up but he mis-judged it. Melky is up to bat with one out and one on third. Melky hits to third base and throws him out at first base and holds Cano on third base. Johnny Damon is up to bat and strikes out to end the inning

Joba Chamberlian replaces Phil Huges and already has two strike outs. He looks a little shaky but is throwing some damn heat! The Strikes out two and last one pops up for an out off to the bottom of the 7th hope the Yankees can add onto their lead. Please rise as we sing God Bless America

Derek Jeter up to bat and strikes out. Bobby is up to bat who is hitless this game. He also strikes out. Derek and Bobby are both hitless this game which is not to good but will be doable with this score. A rod up to bat and strikes out. I am off for tonight and I will predict the ending score will be 5-8 Yankees winning. See you tomorrow night for game four of this five game series. GO YANKEES

Boston Curt Schilling can he handle it?

October 7th, 2007 by yankees

Bottom of the third and it is all Tied up 0-0. LAA is out hitting the sox 4-1 but still 0-0 Will update if anything changes.

GO ANGLES

Two home runs in the top of the 4th. One by Ortiz and one by Ramirez to take a 2-0 lead

HUGE 8th inning for the Sox. 7 runs and nothing can be done about it. Looks like the Sox are moving on. Congrats to the Pansy Pink Soxs :) they deserve it

Very upsetting for the Post Season for the Yankees Are they going to get SWEPT?

October 7th, 2007 by yankees

Who knows if they will get swept except for the final score today. People can predict all they want but that is all predictions. You might be right or you might be wrong and can not be 100% accurate. Well the first game it looked like the Indians were running on all legs which is AWESOME for them. Wang pitched an A OK game but was not his best. They tore New York a new baseball winning 12-3 in Cleveland and pretty much started the series in their way.

Game two was a very well pitched game by Andy Pettit. For some reason they can not get their offense going! What the hell is going on. They swept the Indians 6-0 in regular season play but can not do jack in the post season right now. This game was called “The Attack of the insects” Joba got attacked in the 8th Inning by the bugs which threw him off his game! He threw a couple wild pitches which COULD of been caused by the bugs or it might of been nerves who can tell except for him. That tied the game 1-1 then it went into extra innings where Rivera was getting HOSED by the Umps. The bugs were more of a factor then anything I honestly think.  The Indians kept getting the bases loaded but the pitching was always there to not allow that one run in.  Except for the bottom of the 11th inning.  The bases were loaded and they hit a single to shallow center field which ended the game in old fashion.  Good job Indians but today will determine if they will go to next round.  Chicago Cubs are OUT as well as the Phillies.  They were both swept on Saturday.  GO YANKEES

Joba Chamberlain

Mike Mussina gets third straight win and JOBA gets the Save! Boston Loses but clinched Play off birth yesterday!

September 23rd, 2007 by yankees

Well Boston’s win yesterday gave them a play off birth.  That also happened cause Detroit Tigers lost as well.  Yankees still have not produced a birth but hopefully will this weekend.  They are 1 1/2 games behind the Boston Red Sox.

Todays game!  Well the past two games before today’s went into extra innings.  The first game went into the 14th inning and last nights went into the 10th before Melky gave the winning hit to score Johnny.  They used a record high 10 pitchers last night in that five hour plus game.  Yes that is FIVE hours and that is not including the rain delay.  Mussina pitched pretty damn good.  I am glad he is back on his two feet again.  He had a SLUMP very bad one in Late August.  Joba Chamberlain got his first career save as the Yankees congrats to that Young man!

Well I am tooo tired to blog tonight but GO YANKEES.  Roger is on the mound tomorrow for game four of this series.  There is one week left in the regular season for the Major League Baseball.  Hopefully it ends with the Yankees taking the division!

New York Yankees sweep the Baltimore Orioles but fall in the Bronx to the Blue Jays

September 22nd, 2007 by admin

It went 14 innings before a winner was decided in the Yankees vs. Blue Jays game last night.  It looked like the Blue Jays were going to win when they were up 4-0 going into the 9th innning.  Low and behold the bats started coming alive for the Yankees.  It was a heart breaker but none the less a VERY long game.  G Zaun homered to right in the top of the 14th to give the Toronto Blue Jays the win.  The game lasted 4 hours and 45 minutes.

When Derek Jetter doubled in the first inning of the game,  he tied his manager Joe Torre for 118th place on the career hits list with 2,342.  He will soon pass Tore this weekend most likely. The Yankees will honor Hall of Fame Phil Rizzuto in a pregame ceremony Sunday.

The Yankees are 2 1/2 games behind the Red Sox and still hold the wild card race pretty firm.  In the top of the tenth Rivera relieved R Villon for one inning then Joba Chamberlain came in and relieved Rivera.  Joba threw some damn heat for two innings since the Joba rules are still in affect.  He can only pitch two innings for two games.  He pitched two last night and has no more left.  They are trying to see how he is going to fit in and does not want to injury the young Joba.  Chamberlain did strike out four of his seven batters.

The Yankees play game two today around 1pm EST GO YANKEES

Yankees are 2 1/2 game behind the Red Sox and the Detroit Tigers are 4 1/2 behind the Yankees in the Wild Card Race!

A good update for the Yankees VS. Red Sox Series! Yankees win 8-7 over the Red Sox

September 15th, 2007 by admin

Well what more can you ask for in this heated series?  As you know the Red Sox are number one overall but don’t forget they have to face the Yankees to prove it :) Are the Yankees the best team right now in the MLB and more in the AL?  No I still think the Red Sox are number one as the record shows it.  This is a VERY exciting time in the North East when you can SMELL October coming in.  People are all fun but the red sox/pat fans can get VERY stupid.  Remember in NY when they started throwing batteries on the field?  Yes the New York fans do not play around they go straight to the point no pansy footing around.  Well all I can say it is HEATED here in New England.

Brian Bruney gets the Win for the Yankees.  Jonathan Papelbon get the Loss for the Red Sox.  Yankees deflate the Red sox heads in the Eight Inning with Six runs.  Two back to back home runs from Jason Giambi and Robinson Cano in the 8th to start their rally.  Derek Jeter hit an RBI single and Bobby Abreu tied it with a two-run double.  A-rod brought Bobby in with a Single to go ahead by one.  A-rod did nothing for hitting but did have the RBI to have the GO AHEAD WIN.

The red sox came hot early but deflated late and could not do jack!  Guess who got the save last night for number 27? Oh yeah the number one closer of all time #42 Mariano Rivera of the New York Yankees.  Enough of the Pink Sox’s losing.

Now lets get to Johnny Damon who has been HOT lately.  He use to play for the red sox and was a HUGE factor for them beating the Yankees in 2004 right?  Do you remember?  I do and I didn’t like him but since he is with the Yankees I have more respect for him.  Damon was 4-for-6, had two doubles, an RBI and a run. It was his first four-hit game against Boston and his first overall since June 17, 2006 at Washington.

Did ya’ll see what happened in Tornoto on Thursday night?  If not let me refresh your mind.  It had to deal with a baseball, twenty dollar bill, and a kid :)  here is the story! Johnny Damon provided a light moment in the sixth, retiring Rios on a fly ball for the final out, then giving the ball to a fan seated in the front row in left. The fan responded by giving Damon a $20 bill. Damon took the money, ran further down the line, then handed the bill to a young child.  Johnny doesn’t think he is getting the respect he deserves so he thought this would be a respectable thing to do.  He wants that boy to go buy a yankees cap!

Quote of the Day:  “We lucked out. That eighth inning was incredible. The only thing predictable in this ballpark is the unpredictable.” — Yankees manager Joe Torre   Game two is tonight and rubber game is Sunday night.

Jason Giambi hits a grand slam, Jorge Posada added a solo homer on September 11th 2007

September 12th, 2007 by admin

Well Jason has been on a HUGE slump since coming back from the DL.  Matsui has also been on a slump as well but he has not been hitting either.  At least Giambi a grand slam last night in the Top of the 5th inning!  I guess what really matters is in October and holding out their lead in the Wild Card race.  A rod has been hott!!!!  Jorge is always on track who makes all his money worth while.  Derek Jetter is just Derek Jetter still one of the best players in the MLB.

The New York Yankees are winning tonight in game two of three.  They kick some rear last night winning 9-2.   They are currently winning 4-0 in the bottom of the 6th.  I am heading to bed and tomorrow they play the rubber game three.  Hope they sweep the Blue Jays.  This weekend starts the Boston vs New York series.  I just hope the Yankees get some gain on the Red Sox.

This is a VERY heated time here in Rhode Island.  Yes it is Boston but all the annoying people here think they live in Boston.  They are just stupid fans and have no clue on the 26-6 rule that is in affect.  If you don’t know what it is DO NOT ASK.  There are stupid Sox and Pat fans :( around here and they are just annoying.  GO YANKS

Yankees sweep the Royals and A Rod Hits another HOME RUN Number 52 for A ROD

September 9th, 2007 by admin

Alrighty, now what can be said about Alex Rodriguez as he hits home run number…. 52.  Yes he has hit over 50 Home runs in three season straight.  I just wish he had a ring to go along with it.  His batting average is .318 for the season, over all batting average is .424, twenty two stolen bases, and 140 Runs Batting In (RIB)  A rod started the first inning with a home run which put a little damper on the Royals sweep, it made it sweeter for the sweep.

Wang who is only getting 500k this season has proven himself to be paid over 10million.  He has the most wins on the Yankees and tied for first in the MLB.

The Yankees travel to Toronto Hughes will start for the Yankees.  I am excited to see Mike Mussina start next week!  I hope he is out of his slump.  They are in Toronto for three Games hope they sweep them.  GO YANKEES

Who is Joba Chamberlain one of the Best young pitchers out there!

September 8th, 2007 by admin

Joba Chamberlain (pronounced IPA: [jah-buh]) (born Justin Chamberlain, September 23, 1985, in Lincoln, Nebraska) who is currently a  baseball pitcher for the New York Yankees.  Joba is 21 years old.  Chamberlain was born on the Winnebago Indian Reservation in the northeast corner of Nebraska.

When he was nine months old, Harlan his father became sick with polio and had to leave the reservation to enter a children’s hospital in Lincoln.  Joba’s father is still very sick but very strong minded.  He was at the Kansas City game last nigh.  He drove up from Nebraska to see his son pitch!  With tears rolling down his cheeks, Harlan Chamberlain watched his son pitch in the major leagues for the first time.  It was VERY touching and down right sad!

Joba Chamberlain came trotting out of the bullpen to start the seventh inning, and tears came streaming down Harlan Chamberlain’s weather-beaten face.  He has a cubby face which makes it worth while.  Joba looks just like his father but 30 years younger!  Just a strong minded father Harlan is.

When his son’s first pitch registered 99 mph on the radar gun, the older man whooped with glee and pointed toward the scoreboard yelling, “Ninety-nine! Ninety-nine!”Joba did not disappoint his disabled father, who was seeing him pitch in the major leagues for the first time ”I imagined it. But to see it come to reality and fruition is totally amazing,” Harlan said as he watched his son give up two hits and run his scoreless streak since he joined the Yankees to 14 1/3 innings over 11 games since making his debut on Aug. 7.

Disabled by polio when he was just 9 months old, the elder Chamberlain made the three-hour drive from his home in Lincoln, Neb., on Friday, along with many other family members.”To work as hard as he has and to be on this stage, it’s such a blessing,” he said. The 54-year-old Chamberlain, who is confined to a motorized scooter and lacks full use of his left arm, pumped his right hand into the air when left fielder Johnny Damon ran down Billy Butler’s drive with one on and two outs in the eighth.”Surrounded by loved ones — it just makes it that much more enjoyable,” he said through tears. Before the game, Joba said the love and respect is mutual.”If I can be half the man and half the father he was, I’ll be very, very happy and have a great life,” he said.Afterward, Joba said he’d been able to concentrate on the game and shut out every sight, sound and emotion but one.”I heard my sister,” he said. “For some reason, that’s one of those voices where you’re just like, ‘Oh, gosh. There she is.’ I wasn’t even trying to hear it. That’s one of those high-pitched voices you hate to hear.”He was pumped with adrenaline, he said, “but it was a good adrenaline.”And he was not surprised that his dad broke into tears at the sight of his son in a Yankees uniform.”No, not at all. Not one bit. He’s as proud a father as anybody can be,’ he said. “It’s good. I’m glad to have him here. At least I got to pitch.”

The best part of the interview was when Posada and Jeter went over to shake Harlan Chamberlain’s hand.  You know when you are 21 years old you listen but you do the selective listening.  Well Joba listens but he does what he wants.  When Posada gives him signs Joba will brush them off and not accept them.  Usually when a young pitcher is out on the mound he will accept the first or second sign.  NOT WITH JOBA he does what he wants.  He knows what he can pitch and will not take anything less.

“It was a pleasure to watch you guys play,” Chamberlain said.

“We’re trying to keep your son in line,” said a grinning Jeter. “He listened to us for the first two weeks, but now he does what he wants.”Said the proud father: “Well, he still has to listen to me. You can remind him of that.” With that said you know what that means.  Call dad if Joba Chamberlain ain’t listening to you and he will whip him into shape!

Seattle Mariners at New York Yankees

September 3rd, 2007 by yankees

New York Loses the first of a three game series.  Clemens is 6-6 on the year for a 20+ million dollar deal for this season.  This brings Seattle Mariners with-in one game of the New York Yankees wild card race!  There are two more games in this series and hope the Yankees can take both.  They are playing at home so I do not see why they can’t.  Hitting was OK but could of been better today.  The Mariners snap a Eight game losing streak today beating the New York Yankees.

Clemens allowed eight hits and five runs in four innings, and left to get an MRI exam on his balky right elbow before the clubhouse opened after the loss.  Hopefully this is just a little bang up and rest can do the trick.  If not I dunno maybe he will be done for the season.

Wang will start tomorrow and hopefully he can pull the win off for the Yankees and put the Mariners back to two games.  GO YANKEES
