Mythos attack on 3rd-round PQC algorithm candidate puts it out of commission

A quantum-resistant cryptography algorithm called HAWK, a candidate for a US standard, has been withdrawn after a flaw was discovered. Anthropic's AI security model, Mythos, helped identify weaknesses in HAWK, effectively halving its key strength. While the findings are significant for cryptography research, they do not compromise currently used cryptosystems.
